On 15th November 2019, the Museum of London is set to open an exclusive exhibit in celebration of The Clash\u2019s<\/a> seminal album London Calling<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Showcasing previously unseen items from the band\u2019s personal archive, The Clash: London Calling will include draft lyrics, stage clothes, photos and films, giving new insight into the group\u2019s recording process.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As well as showcasing the influences and context for the making of the iconic album, the new exhibit will examine how the capital city influenced The Clash as they became one of the most influential British bands of the 20th century.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

To coincide with the display\u2019s opening on 15th November, Sony Music will release the London Calling Scrapbook<\/em> \u2013 a 120-page hardback companion which comes with the album on CD, containing handwritten lyrics, notes, photos and previously unseen material.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Prior to this, Sony Music will also issue a special edition of London Calling<\/em> on 11th October in line with National Album Day. Available on CD, vinyl and cassette, the album will feature a special sleeve highlighting the layers of the iconic artwork by Ray Lowry, with its photograph by Pennie Smith.<\/p>\n\n\n

Curated by Robert Gordon McHarg III, Beatrice Behlen and The Clash, The Clash: London Calling exhibit opens on 15th November and runs until Spring 2020. Entry is free.<\/p>\n\n\n
