{"id":29897,"date":"2024-05-24T16:07:26","date_gmt":"2024-05-24T15:07:26","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.sonymusic.co.uk\/?page_id=29897"},"modified":"2025-06-03T20:46:32","modified_gmt":"2025-06-03T19:46:32","slug":"sony-musics-global-social-justice-fund","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.sonymusic.co.uk\/about\/sony-musics-global-social-justice-fund\/","title":{"rendered":"Sony Music&#8217;s Global Social Justice Fund"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sonymusic.co.uk\/sony-music-group-announces-100-million-global-social-justice-fund\/\">Global Social Justice Fund<\/a> operates across different territories and divisions of Sony, with a common goal to address injustice and racism, coupled with an understanding that we should be responsive to local challenges. Since the fund was created in June 2020, in the wake of George Floyd\u2019s murder, the SJF team at Sony Music UK have focused on how to support anti-racist initiatives in Britain, addressing structural inequality for lasting change.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In line with the Global Social Justice Fund\u2019s goals, in the UK we have concentrated on three core pillars: education and skills, criminal justice and rehabilitation, and civic and community engagement. In the UK, so far*, we have donated over \u00a32.5 million to 27 different organisations, funded over 10,500 hours of training and development sessions, and helped improve the lives of around 12,000 people. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We typically invite partners to apply to us for project-based grants that fit within our strategic pillars, and which may be one-off or multi-year amounts. The UK beneficiaries are chosen by a diverse advisory board representing labels and divisions across Sony Music UK, from label presidents to members of Sony Music\u2019s Race and Ethnicity committee, HUE (Helping Unite Everyone).
