The music video was directed by Wendy Morgan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Commenting on the track, Keys said, &#8220;some people may think of the word \u2018underdog\u2019 as a negative word, but I see it as a powerful word representing people who may be underestimated and yet still rise to the challenge and exceed expectations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cI love this song so much, because it\u2019s about real life and real people and our experiences. We\u2019ve all been in a place in our lives where we\u2019ve had to defy the odds. It\u2019s never easy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cOne of my favourite lyrics in the song is, \u2018They said I would never make it, but I was built to break the mould.\u2019 I don\u2019t think there\u2019s a person on the planet that hasn\u2019t felt that way.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2018Underdog\u2019 is the latest offering from\u00a0<em>ALICIA<\/em>, Keys\u2019 forthcoming seventh studio album.
